This program is designed
to train the graduate for an entry-level
career in the bookkeeping field. The
graduate may work as an Accounts Receivables/Accounts
Payables Clerk, Bookkeeper, Payroll
Clerk, Accountant's Assistant, or
Inventory Control clerk. The graduate
of this program should possess advanced
bookkeeping skills, familiarity with
computerized bookkeeping systems,
basic office skills, many end-user
computer skills including Microsoft
Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint,
and Outlook). They will also have
a solid foundation in business math
and English as well as intermediate
typing skills (approximately 30 words
per minute). The graduate will also
be well prepared for the job search
and will qualify to sit for National
Certification as a Registered Bookkeeper.

Graduates of the Accounting programcan
transfer all of their credits into
our Associate Degree in Business program
and complete their Associate Degree
in only three additional quarters
(daytime). Graduates of the Accounting
program can also sit for the Registered
Bookkeepers examination that is given
at the college at the beginning of
each quarter. The Bookkeeper examination
is online and results are immediate.
